Public Health Sudbury and Districts has advised Rainbow District School Board that a second confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported at Adamsdale Public School, the school told parents in a letter.

The individual is currently self-isolating and being monitored by Public Health Sudbury and Districts. The school is being cleaned and disinfected this weekend.

Adamsdale Public School remains open for in-person learning.

There is no impact on childcare and before and after school programs.

By direction of Public Health, students in the Grade 5/6 class in Room 5 have been asked to self-isolate to and including Sept. 27. The affected students, their parents/guardians and relevant staff have been notified and have received a letter from Public Health with specific guidelines. Direction for staff is based on immunization status.

The school board said in its letter to parents it continues to work closely with Public Health as they implement ongoing health and safety protocols to limit the spread of COVID-19.

“We will monitor our school population for any signs COVID-19 and follow the guidance from Public Health,” said the letter.

Public Health continues to investigate the situation and if any risks to the school community are identified, they may direct additional measures, the board told parents.
