Sudbury's first pedestrian crossover comes into use today:

Sudbury's first pedestrian crossover will be located at Barrydowne Road at Woodbine Avenue and will come into use on Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Pedestrian crossovers provide safe passage for pedestrians across roads that do not have conventional traffic signals or stop signs nearby. Councillors hesitant to pay taxes for family health teams:

City councillors were reluctant Monday to grant a tax break to three family health teams in the city, asking instead for a report on what the city has already invested in the facilities. Be sure to check back with Sudbury.com today for Darren MacDonald's story.

Plan would address shortage of social housing in Sudbury:

Much of the city's social housing units were built in the 1970s and 1980s and increasingly aren't meeting the needs of the city's vulnerable. That was the message to members of the community services committee Monday, who approved the city's participation in developing a plan to address the shortfall in both the number of units available and the type of housing people need. Rainbow Routes opens Wahnapitae Trail:

A new 500m stretch of trail will officially be opened on Nov. 15 at 9:30 a.m. The stretch of trail opens off of Glenbower Crescent, near the park at the Wahnapitae Community Center. Check back with Sudbury.com for more on this story.

Sewer installation to close lane on Bancroft today through Friday:

The installation of water and sanitary sewers at a private residence will close the westbound lane on Bancroft Drive, between Laberge Lane and Levesque Street, on Nov. 15 to 18.
