Winter road maintenance contractors:

Several months after Sudbury.com filed a freedom of information request with the Ministry of Transportation, we have received information on the number of times winter highway maintenance contractors were found not to be in conformance with their obligations between March 2014 and May 2016. Look for those numbers and potential fines these contractors could face later today in Jonathan Migneault's story.

Family health teams seek tax break from city:

City of Lakes Family Health Teams in Sudbury are asking city council to give them a break on property taxes, a move that would cost about $30,000 next year. Check back with Sudbury.com later today for Darren MacDonald's story.

Hospital, health network meet as ALC numbers rise:

On Nov. 7 Health Sciences North reported it had 103 ALC patients. Health Sciences North told Sudbury.com that for much of 2016, it has had between 70 and 100 ALC patients in the hospital. Read the full story here.

Health Minister to make announcement in Sudbury today:

Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, will be joined by Glenn Thibeault, MPP for Sudbury, to make an important announcement about improving access to care in northeastern Ontario. Hoskins will be making the announcement at Health Sciences North today at around 2:20 p.m.

Hydrant work to close sections of MR 80:

Due to fire hydrant work , 500 metre sections of the north bound curb lane will be closed on MR 80 in McCrea Heights from Neal Street to Hubert Street from Nov. 8 to Nov. 29. Work will be completed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check out today's traffic update here.
