Generous community support is what keeps the Health Sciences North (HSN) Foundation thriving and sustainable, according to Anthony Keating, president and chief development officer of the Foundations and Volunteer Groups at HSN.

Keating was commenting on the recent contribution of $50,000 by Snow Squad, a Sudbury-based residential-commercial snow removal company.

“We are grateful to Snow Squad for their generous contribution towards the successful completion of our $7 million fundraising campaign to purchase a new MRI and upgrade the

existing MRI scanner at HSN,” said Keating.

The donation was provided this week by Snow Squad president Taylor Marshall along with company general manager Mitch Gammon to the HSN Foundation's Unlock the Potential MRI

fundraising campaign.

Keating said he was pleased that Snow Squad came through for the foundation like it has in other campaigns in previous years.

“Snow Squad has been a wonderful community partner over the years, supporting priority needs of the hospital through our Snowflake and Tree of Lights campaigns. They continue to make a difference in our community and appreciate the importance that the MRI will have on providing better care to patients across Northeastern Ontario.”

The new MRI model is set to provide superior imaging abilities, improved patient experience and fasterscan times. MRI scans are integral to many specialties in medicine, including neurology, cancer, pediatrics, orthopedics, women’s health and cardiology.

On behalf of Snow Squad, Marshall said he was pleased to support the campaign and commented on its importance to the community.

"We are thrilled to be supporting our community through this donation to Health Sciences North Foundation towards the MRI campaign," said Marshall.

“This opportunity is our way of giving back to the community, and demonstrating our appreciation for the confidence and incredible support of our customers. While we will all benefit from having an additional MRI at HSN, we genuinely hope that our contribution will help ensure that if any of our customers need an MRI in the future, they won't have a long wait for it."
