If you're travelling south or west today (or coming home via the same highways), you're going to run into some snowy weather.
There are snow squall watches and warnings in effect all along the snow belt on the Highway 69/400 corridor, including Parry Sound, Orillia and Barrie.
There are also snow squall watches and warnings for communities along the Highway 17 corridor, including Espanola, Blind River, Thessalon, Sault Ste. Marie, Batchewana Bay and Montreal River.
There is also a snow squall warning in effect for Killarney, a hamlet located on Georgian Bay about an hour south of Greater Sudbury, off of Highway 69.
Highway 17 between Batchewana Bay and Wawa was closed at around 7 a.m. due to the winter weather.
As for Greater Sudbury, we're going to get a bit of snow too, but nothing like some of our neighbours to the west and south. There will be flurries ending near noon, then clearing, with a local amount of two centimetres.
