Approximately 240 customers in the Greater Sudbury area are currently without power after a wicked wind storm knocked out power for more than 50,000 homes, primarily in Northeastern Ontario.
Greater Sudbury power outages, concentrated in Alban, Dowling and Whitefish, will be restored by 4 pm today said Hydro One spokesperson Al Manchee. Power should be fully restored across the northeast by 8 pm tonight.
Manchee said Hydro One began receiving reports concerning power outages early Wednesday morning. Timmins, Kirkland Lake and New Liskeard were among the areas hardest hit by the power failure.
