Last week, Sudbury.com asked you, our loyal readers, to join us in supporting the Sudbury Food Bank this festive season - and your response was nothing short of extraordinary.
During the holidays, an increased number of people are reliant on our local food bank. This increased need means that the Sudbury Food Bank needs our support more than ever.
Sudbury.com brought our whole community together to help provide that support.
We partnered with Real Canadian Superstore to offer food packages for purchase through an online pop-up store.
Sudbury.com and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched 23 times!
Together, we raised an incredible $10,332 for the Sudbury Food Bank and delivered 15 food packages, helping to support those who need it most over the holiday season. Thank you!
Special thanks to the Real Canadian Superstore for donating the food packages for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: Fibron Insulations Inc, Rastall Nut & Bolt, Diggs & Dwellings, Kia Sudbury, Dalron, Palladino Auto Group, Cambrian Ford, A&J Home Hardware, Connected Living with Dawn Condon, Snow Squad, Moetus Health, Sudbury E-Bike, House of Broadloom, MLA Law, Glencore, Cintas, Southside Chevrolet Buick GMC, Ranger's Cremation and Burial Services, Witrak Auto Specialties, The Kouzzina and Bestech.
If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to the local food bank. You can donate online or call (705-671-9663) to arrange a donation, or click here for more information on how to give back.
