Through Delta Bingo & Gaming locations in Sudbury and Val Caron, more than 150 local charitable organizations have shared more than $929,454 in fundraising dollars over the summer (June to August).

“This brings the total over the past year to $3,665,130,” Delta Bingo said in a news release. “These funds help support local delivery of charitable programs and services that are vital to the needs of the people of Greater Sudbury. Funds are used for food programs, education, healthcare, arts and culture, youth sports, and other community driven programs and services.”

Among the beneficiaries is the House of Kin, which uses the funding to continue its work of providing a “comfortable, safe, and compassionate” home away from home for patients and loved ones travelling to Sudbury for medical reasons.

Delta Bingo & Gaming Sudbury began its partnership in charitable gaming in 2006 with the sister site in Val Caron joining in 2012. Since the program began, more than $39 million has been raised for local charitable groups across Greater Sudbury, Delta said in a news release.

In total, 37 Charitable Gaming Centres in Ontario have raised more than $460 million for more than 2,000 charities in their communities.
