Tea with the editor: Why does Sudbury need a downtown event centre?

Editor Mark Gentili sits down with Jeff MacIntyre, chair of Downtown Sudbury

In this latest episode of Tea with the Editor, Sudbury.com managing editor Mark Gentili sits down with Jeff MacIntyre, chair of the Downtown Sudbury BIA.

The topic of discussion, as you can probably guess, is the event centre project and why, in the minds of MacIntyre and many others, it absolutely has to be downtown.

Gentili and MacIntyre talk taxes, development, in-filling and the ongoing evolution of Greater Sudbury's core.

As a funny aside, while the two were talking, Dario Zulich, the man behind the proposal to put the event centre on The Kingsway, photo bombs them.

The interview is about an hour long. Below find a list of time stamps and topics to help you navigate through the interview:

00:00:57 The renaissance of Downtown Sudbury
00:13:00 What's missing downtown
