Plan A Long Term Care Staffing & Recruitment will be covering tuition costs for 10 students who are interested in taking the PSW program in January at St. Albert Adult Learning Centre.
Greater Sudbury’s senior population is growing, but the number of qualified staff to care for them is shrinking. It’s a difficult situation and Plan A has decided to step up and do something about it, a press release said.
In an effort to help ease the staffing crisis in the long term care sector, these 10 students will have the entire cost of their education covered as well as a guaranteed position at any Plan A franchise upon graduation.
“This is a province-wide crisis,” said Sheri Tomchick, founder of Plan A Long Term Care Staffing & Recruitment, in the press release.
“After working as a nurse in long term care and experiencing the staffing shortages first-hand, it became my mission to solve this problem. Our seniors need our help now more than ever.”
