Three new outbreaks of COVID-19 reported in Sudbury

Sudbury health unit said the COVID-19 risk level in Sudbury is still listed as 'inactive'

There are three new outbreaks of COVID-19 in Sudbury that have occurred in the past four days. 

This includes an outbreak at Sudbury's Health Sciences North hospital (HSN). That outbreak has occurred on the fourth floor of the North Tower at HSN. The outbreak was reported on Friday, August 11, said the hospital.

A COVID status report compiled by Public Health Sudbury and Districts revealed there are three active outbreaks in Greater Sudbury at this time.

This includes one new outbreak at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre, second floor (August 14); one new outbreak at the St. Joseph's Clarion Site, fourth floor (August 14), and the outbreak at HSN (August 11). No information was provided on whether the infections involved staff members or patients. 

These numbers were updated as of the morning of Tuesday, August 15.

The COVID-19 status report on the PHSD website lists the local risk level as "inactive" at this time.
