Topper’s Pizza has now moved into its brand new 3,000 square-foot customer care centre on Westmount Avenue.
After remaining in the back of their former Lasalle Boulevard pizzeria for more than a decade, the new location will provide a larger, brighter and team-focused environment, as well as room for growth for about 50 more staff.
Kelly Toppazzini, co-owner of Topper's Pizza, said the former location served the company well, but there was a definite need for a larger building to employ more people. And, because the pizza chain got its start in Sudbury, the idea is to keep that momentum going here.
“In the spirit of keeping jobs in Northern Ontario, we see a very clear growth trajectory for Sudbury and wanted to keep our company roots in our hometown,” said Toppazzini. “The growth into a larger facility is a testament to the strength of our customer call-in ordering service and where we see our business going.”
Toppazzini estimates that every new pizzeria location that comes on board with the customer call centre, means an additional 2-3 staff.
Currently, Toppers has 39 locations throughout Ontario, with 44 employees at the call centre. The new call centre boasts 60 stations with enough room to accommodate up to 100 employees.
The Toppazzini family is also celebrating 35 years of business.
Since 1982, Toppers has expanded into southern Ontario, within cities such as Hamilton and Ottawa, as well as outside of Toronto and Guelph. Long-term, the plan is to have locations all across Canada, but for now, the focus is on Ontario, Toppazzini said.
