Traffic update: Downtown road closures for Ribfest

The annual Labour Day weekend Downtown Sudbury Ribfest will require road and lane closures for set-up and festivities. 

Elgin Street will close between Larch and Durham Streets from 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2 to 3 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5. 

Parking will not be permitted at parking metres on the north side of Larch, between Elgin Street and Durham Street. 

Expect lane reductions in the areas of Larch, Elgin and Durham Streets. Medina Lane will be closed, local traffic only, between Durham and Elgin Streets from 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. 

Full closure on Medina Lane will take place from 5 p.m. on Friday, September 2 to 3 a.m. on Monday, September 5.

Hanmer Lake Road West, Hanmer: Culvert replacement will reduce lanes on Hanmer Lake Road West starting Sept. 2.

One lane of traffic will be maintained with traffic being controlled by portable traffic lights at each end of the construction. Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. through to Sept. 30.

Lloyd Street: Curb removal and replacement work by Belanger Construction will close the westbound curb lane on Lloyd Street, between Elm and Brady Streets. 

Work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Wednesday, Aug.31 to Wednesday, Sept. 7.
