Traffic update: New road work projects introduced across Greater Sudbury

The City of Greater Sudbury would like to advise motorists that traffic flow will be affected by this weekend's garlic festival as well as nine new road work projects, started yesterday or within the next few days. 

To make room for the Ukrainian Garlic Food Fest, three northbound lanes on Notre Dame Avenue from Elm Street to Ste. Anne Road and two northbound lanes on Notre Dame Avenue from Larch Street to Elm Street, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. Northbound traffic will be re-directed to the southbound lanes. 

Following are the roads that are scheduled for maintenance:

Municipal Road 35: Grinding and paving on M.R. 35 (northeast section towards Azilda) will close one lane in each direction for 24 hours per day from Aug. 23 until September 30.

Municipal Road 15: Grinding and paving on M.R. 15 from Dupont Street to East of Belisle Drive, will reduce traffic to one lane for 24 hours per day from Aug. 23, to Sept. 30.

Dean Street, Sudbury: Storm sewer, water main and road repair work will close one lane of traffic on Dean Street from Lorne to Quinn Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 30 to Oct. 31.

Brebeuf Avenue, Sudbury: Water main lining work will reduce Brebeuf Avenue to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 26 to Nov. 30.

Balsam Street, Copper Cliff: Water main lining work will reduce Balsam Street to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 26 to Nov. 30.

Collins Drive, Copper Cliff: Water main lining work will reduce Collins Drive to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 26 to Nov. 30.

Municipal Road 80 McCrea Heights: Curb and sidewalk replacement on M.R. 80 will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., Aug. 26 to Sep. 13.
 
Highway 69N, Hanmer: Curb and sidewalk replacement at 3006 Highway 69 North will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., Aug. 26 to Sept. 13.

Highway 69N, Hanmer: Curb and sidewalk replacement at 2526 Highway 69 North will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., Aug. 26 to Sept. 13.
