Local 598/CAW has increased its membership Tuesday when workers at the Elizabeth Centre in Val Caron voted 76 percent in favour of joining the 1,500 members of the Sudbury Mine Mill and Smelter Workers Union Tuesday.
Around 100 workers at the Elizabeth Centre's housekeeping, laundry and maintenance department will join the CAW.
Next Tuesday, Dec. 27, Local 598/CAW will celebrate their new members with an open house at 19 Regent St. from 10 am to 7 pm. Everyone is welcome.
