Next Wednesday marks the launch of the Ontario 2-1-1 "Help Starts Here" Campaign supported by Green Shield Canada.

Nov. 2 is the second day of the eleventh month - 2-1-1 - the campaign is to raise awareness about the usefulness of 2-1-1 in helping people navigate services.

The "Help Starts Here" campaign is calling for people to share videos and 2-1-1 resources throughout their community during this stressful time of year in order to offer support to those in their community who may need help.

Videos can be found on United Way Centraide Sudbury and Nipissing District's Facebook page @UWSudNip, as well as on YouTube.

"If winter and the upcoming holidays fill you with dread, call 2-1-1 to find community organizations that help relieve some of the stress of the season," said a news release from the United Way.

"Community organizations provide donated toys, holiday meals, winter coats for children, utility bill relief, snow removal for seniors, friendly visitors, newcomer programs, meals on wheels, grocery shopping help, community volunteer tax clinics, mental health supports and more. Call 2-1-1 to find relief this winter. Help starts here."
