University, MNO tackle 'unique educational needs' of the Métis

The University of Sudbury and the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will sign a memorandum of understanding Nov. 18.

The University of Sudbury and the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will sign a memorandum of understanding Nov. 18.

 

The two organizations will “establish an ongoing working relationship, as part of an overall University of Sudbury - MNO effort to identify and operationalize opportunities and partnerships to address the unique educational needs of the Metis in the province,” according to a press release from the university.

 

Also on Nov. 18, Raymond Tremblay, a Métis man, will give a presentation at the University of Sudbury titled “Breaking Silence with Creative Writing,” which will detail his struggles with bipolar disorder. 

 

The presentation, which is free of charge, will take place at 7 p.m. in Canisius Hall. For more information, phone 673-5661, ext. 317.
