Residents are invited to participate in a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Sudbury Community Arena Nov. 11 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This year's Remembrance Day marks the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War. 66,537 Canadians died during the conflict.

Local soliders, reservists, veterans, cadets, police and peace officers, and scouts will parade to the Sudbury Arena from Tom Davies for a multi-faith remembrance and Legion service to commorate and pay tribute to the lives lost in South Africa, the First World War, the Second World War, Korean War, Gulf War, and current conflicts and peacekeeping missions.

Following the Remembrance Day service, some organizations will hold short services in Memorial Park and local veteran's organizations will host open houses for the general public.
