Video: Meet the Bancroft Bruins, the bear family that resides in the Minnow Lake area

MNRF has no immediate plans to trap the sow and her three cubs but advises residents not to feed the bears

The Bancroft Bruins are well known to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF).

The MNRF says the mother bear has been hanging around the Minnow Lake area for years.

Earlier this spring, the MNRF had trapped the sow but she was released soon thereafter to reunite her with her three young cubs.

The family of bears have been hanging around the area ever since.

Sudbury.com’s Heather Green-Oliver captured some video of the quiet bunch from the safety of her vehicle. Check out the video above.

As cute as they may be, the MNRF is reminding residents not to feed the Bancroft Bruins.

Without a food source, bears will move along and hibernate in a safer area.
