A YouTube video shot by a Sudbury man – which shows the discovery of a body downtown Friday – has passed 281,000 views.

Marcel St-Jean hasn't returned messages seeking comment, but his video has been shared hundreds of times on social media. The clip runs for five minutes, 47 seconds, and shows St-Jean and his partner first heading downtown for Ribfest.

But as they arrive downtown, something seems wrong near the area where they park.

“Is everybody OK?” St-Jean is heard to say, as a group of people emerge from the area. “Should we call for help?”

He then walks closer to what appears to be two people laying on the ground. One is unconscious, but the other person – whose face is blocked by a large white circle – appears lifeless. A 'graphic content' warning also appears on the video before the deceased man appears.

Ambulance and police arrive a short time later on the video, and a visibly shaken St-Jean addresses the camera and reflects on what he witnessed and experienced.

St-Jean is known for his videos of life, and was the subject of a May 2012 story by NorthernLife.ca. In that case, a video he shot of an inebriated cyclist attracted more than 147,000 views and was picked up by a U.S. syndicated TV show.
