Video: What weird and wonderful questions did Sudbury students have for astronaut Jeremy Hansen?

Watch him answer all of them with a stellar smile, here!

Canadian Space Program astronaut (and Canadian Armed Forces fighter pilot) Jeremy Hansen gave a presentation about space exploration and what it takes to make it to space at Science North on May 8.

Grade 9 students watched NASA time-lapses and learned about the challenges, discoveries and new technologies shaping international missions in space.

Hansen's flight career began at the age of 12 as an air cadet. By the age of 17, he'd obtained his glider and pilot licenses. Ten years later, he completed CF-18 Fighter Pilot Training. Hansen was recruited by the Canadian Space Agency in 2009, and is one of four active Canadian astronauts.

Currently, he is waiting for a flight assignment, with an expectation to visit space by 2024 or earlier.

By the time Hansen was finished his talk, the kids had many questions to ask. Students featured in the Youtube video have lots of questions. Watch Hansen field them all, from the weird to practical, here.
