Walk a block for Lupus

October is Lupus Awareness Month and the Walk a Block for Lupus fundraisers will help to provide research to find a cure and also to bring attention to Lupus, a little known auto-immune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks itself.

October is Lupus Awareness Month and the Walk a Block for Lupus fundraisers will help to provide research to find a cure and also to bring attention to Lupus, a little known auto-immune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks itself. More than 50,000 Canadians have this life-threatening disease, yet there is little public awareness about Lupus.

The local Lupus support group is hosting two events this year:

Oct. 9 – 6 pm
Bell Park Amphitheatre

Oct. 2 – 1 pm
Blue Bird Grill, Levack

Everyone is invited to participate; however any group or person can walk a Block for Lupus anytime, anywhere in October. Call the Lupus Line at 983-4343 for further information and pledge forms.
