Video: Nickel Belt all-candidates debate in Hanmer

Sudbury.com will be livestreaming Chamber-organized event

The final local debate before June 7's provincial election was held in the Nickel Belt riding at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.

Sudbury.com provided live coverage of the event, which happened at Cousin Vinny's Restaurant in Hanmer.

This is the second of two debates organized and hosted by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber held a candidate's debate for the Sudbury riding last week.

“These all-candidates’ events are open to all candidates in the respective ridings,” the Chamber said in a news release.

“There will be an opportunity for candidates to answer questions on matters of importance to Greater Sudbury’s business community as well as to address written questions received from audience and on-line participants.

“The all candidates events are free and open to the public. No registration is required.”

NDP MPP France Gélinas is the incumbent in Nickel Belt, running against the Liberals' Tay Butt, PCs' Jo-Ann Cardinal, the Greens' Bill Crumplin, the Libertarian Party's James Chretien and the Consensus Ontario Party's Matthew Del Papa.
