The Nickel District Conservation Authority (NDCA) issued a flood advisory at 10:30 am Monday saying levels and flows on all watercourses, small and large, have risen considerably over the course of the weekend.

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is causing the runoff situation to worsen as more precipitation is forecast for the next three days. The spring runoff in most parts of the watershed is fully underway.

The NDCA is advising all residents who live in low-lying and known hazard areas adjacent to the smaller watercourses such as Junction Creek, Whitson Creek and Romford Creek that they should monitor developing conditions closely.

Any city residents who may need assistance, if overland water becomes a problem, are asked to call the city's 24-hour hotline at 560-2022.
