A local non-profit group is hoping to keep the momentum going from two successful bottle drives in the city that raised funds for both the Sudbury Food Bank and Infant Food Bank.

We the Bury is organizing its next bottle drive for July 4 and July 5, in partnership with Overtime Sports Bar and Grill and Jana Hospitality Consulting. Bottles can be dropped off at the parking lot of Overtime on Notre Dame Avenue, with proceeds going to the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer.

“The last two bottle drives were a huge success in support of the Sudbury Food and Bank and Infant Food Bank and we thank the community for their tremendous support,” said We the Bury co-founder Curtis Loiselle. “We would like to keep up the momentum for another deserving charity being the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer.”

Bottles can be dropped off July 4 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and July 5 between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. A barbecue will also be available. Organizers will be selling We the Bury T-shirts and hoodies, Canada Day themed, with $5 from each purchase going directly to NOFCC.

They are also looking for volunteers to assist during the bottle drive.

Anyone who cannot attend the event weekend with your empties can reach out to the We the Bury team to make alternate arrangements for pickups. Email [email protected].
