The Sudbury Sexual Assault Crisis Centre is hosting a Wen-Do, women?s self defence training program.

Girls ages 10 years and older, and women of all ages, abilities and background can learn common sense and easy to remember self-defence techniques during the Wen-do program.

The course is being offered June 8 and 9 from 9 am to 5 pm both days at the 3-C Centre located at 111 Elm St., Suite 202.

The cost is $10 to $30 based on a sliding scale.

The course will help participants increase confidence and ability to take care of themselves through learning effective strikes, blocks and choke and body holds, discussion of powerful verbal strategies that can be applied to dangerous situations and will help develop and intensify a sense of self-worth and self-trust.
