Yesterdays Resort and Conference Centre in Alban has new owners.

Bruce Cunnian says the changes he has made to the resort, a short drive off of Highway 69 at the French River, are quite significant.

?There have been mammoth-sized maintenance repairs. We have been working very hard to improve our facilities and our services.?

Cunnian boasts about the facilities: tennis courts, volleyball, badminton, indoor heated pool, whirlpools, sauna, games room, and new spa facilities.
The resort is located near golf courses and snowmobile trails.

Yesterdays offers conference facilities which can accommodate up to 150 people. These facilities are also available for weddings, private parties, trade shows and business seminars.

With a name like Yesterdays, it may come as no surprise that this resort has quite a history.

The resort was first constructed in 1923 by the Canadian Pacific Railway as an executive retreat. It was first opened to the public in 1928 as a fishing camp.

The resort has had a number of famous visitors over the years, including King George IV and Queen Elizabeth.

The visit inspired the stonework in the fireplace of the Riverview Dining Room. It is arranged in the shape of a king?s crown.

In the 1950s, under the ownership of Clarence Honey, the camp hosted guests such as Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable.

During the following decades, ownership of the property has changed hands several times.

In 1992, the resort was reopened under the name Yesterdays.

Since last September, Cunnian has been working to attract more clientele and ensure only the best service is provided at the resort.

?We are proud to say that Yesterdays has had royalty stay at our resort, but, ultimately, we strive to treat every person who walks in our doors like a king or queen.? Cunnian is proud his work is paying off.

?We are happy to say our guest books are full of praise about what a great experience people have had here at Yesterdays, and what great service they have received.?

Yesterdays Resort is currently planning a number of events to encourage new and old customers to come out. There will be a celebration on Father?s Day with a brunch next month. Also, in early June, the resort will be hosting a classic car show. The event is planned to be a closed event for classic car owners and their families.

Yesterdays has a Chinese food buffet and karaoke every Saturday night.
