CIBC World Markets Children?s Miracle Foundation has begun its search for exceptional young volunteers with the launch of its second annual Young Miracle Maker Awards program.

The clinic on Elm Street has two nurse practitioners on staff, Crystal Noel (left) and Genevieve Courtant, who can perform routine check-ups, pap smears, prescribe some medications, monitor chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma, and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
The foundation will select up to 13 young Canadians (18 years of age or younger) to be recognized for their contributions to the health, education and well-being of children in their communities.

Young Miracle Maker Award winners will receive a $500 Canada Savings Bond and a $2,500 donation in their name to a qualifying children?s charity of their choice.

The Young Miracle Maker Award program was initially launched in 2004 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of CIBC World Markets Children?s Miracle Day.

On Miracle Day, CIBC World Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors and sales and trading staff donate their fees and commissions to benefit children?s charities. Last year?s Miracle Day raised $4.1 million in Canada.

Award nominations must include a summary of the nominee?s contributions to children in their community as well as three references to confirm their
charitable involvement. The deadline for completed nominations is Friday, Sept. 30.

Nomination forms are available on the foundation?s website www.childrensmiracle.com.
