ACKERLAND, Hilder Kristina - In Loving Memory of Hilder Kristina (nee Elofson) Ackerland, 99 years. Peacefully Friday, December 23rd, 2011 at the Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Leonard Ackerland predeceased 1976. Loving mother of Raymond (wife Ginette), Murray (wife Jo- Ann) and Dale (wife Therese). Cherished grandmother of Dean, Lynn, Troy, Angela, Melissa, Erika and predeceased by Kevin and Dawn; and 11 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Abel and Gerda (Wicklander) Elofson predeceased. Dear sister to Gunhild “Margaret“, Elin, Martha, Greta, Clifford and Lawrence. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Hilder was a longtime and well-loved Kipling resident. She settled in Kipling in 1921 where she married Leonard in 1940. She was a faithful member of Kipling Baptist Church, actively participating in the church's fellowship and ministries. She was a life member of Kipling Helping Hands. When she moved to Sudbury, she attended Berean Baptist Church. Hilder was always quick to help others and will be well remembered for her positive personality. Hilder can echo the words of St. Paul; “I fought the good fight. I finished my course. I kept the faith.“ Funeral Service in the Kipling Baptist Church Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at 2pm. Interment in the family plot at the Kipling Cemetery. (Friends may call at the church after 11am Tuesday). Donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Kipling Baptist Church would be appreciated.
