ALBIANI, Mary - Passed away peacefully, with family at her side, Monday, April 9th, 2012. Born on August 15th, 1921 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Mary married Karl Albiani in Austria in 1948. Karl came to Canada shortly afterwards and she followed him in 1949 after the birth of their first son. Beloved wife of Karl Albiani (predeceased 1996), mother of Charles (Judy) of Winnipeg, Andrew (Bebhinn) of Sudbury, Donna Prampero (Gary) of Cincinnati and Sylvia Finamore (Brian) of Toronto. Cherished Grandmother of David (Esther), Stephanie, Karen (Ben), Eric (predeceased), Steven (Paula), Melissa, Matthew (Jenna), Sarah, Mark, Christopher, Rachel, Daniel and Patrick. Great Granny to Ella, Logan, Carter, Ethan, Sullivan, Devyn, Scarlet and Kallie. Dear daughter of Rok Zalaznik and Pepca Galic, she is predeceased by her brothers Miro and Rok in Slovenia and sister Jozi in Colorado. She is survived by her sister Vida in Slovenia. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a member of St. Pius X Church, Lively, where she sang in the choir and worked with the CWL. She was a member of the Slovenian Society of Sudbury. A woman of quiet, gentle demeanor, Mary's priority in life was her family. Among family and friends, she was noted for her passion of picking, selling and baking with her blueberries. Tending to her spacious and vibrant garden, she prepared all her fruits and vegetables for the winter season yearly. Her apple strudel and potica were always welcome treats during family meals and celebrations. In the evening, she loved watching and competing with the contestants on Jeopardy. She spent countless hours fashioning beautiful knitted and crocheted pieces of work that she gifted to her family and friends or offered to the community for fund raising at teas or bazaars. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten as she now is reunited with her dear Karl. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Church, Lively SATURDAY, April 14th, 2012 at 10 A.M. Interment in the family plot at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Walden. Parish Prayers 7:30 P.M. Friday.
