ANDERS, Rudolf Sr. - The family announces with sorrow the passing of Rudolf (Rudy) Anders on April 2nd, 2012. He was 93 and passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Silesia, Germany where he married Marta Linkert in 1939. She passed away in 1990. They had two children in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1951, where two more children were added to the family. Daughter Karen passed away in 2005. He is survived by daughter Waltraud and sons Rudolf Jr. and Ronald. Also survived by grandchildren Susan, Stefan, Caroline, Eric, Nathan, Matthew and Kyle and great grandchildren Jared, Lucas, Logan and Isabella. He was happiest around his family and working in his garden and tending his flowers. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling. He was a proud man, proud of his heritage and proud to be a Canadian. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. Interment in the Civic Cemetery in Sudbury. At the family's request there will be no service and no visitation. A private family service will be held in the future. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME.
