ANDLAR, Barbara Marie (nee Wighton) - May 28, 1939 - January 6, 2012 - In loving memory of Barbara Marie Andlar (nee Wighton), passed away January 6, 2012 at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Peter Andlar. Loving mother of Norene (Charles Starkman), Christine (Kevin Kovalchuk) and Coline (Will Gove). Cherished grandmother of Karen, Steven, Molly and Olivia. Dear daughter of Morgan and Marie Wighton both predeceased. Dear sister of John Wighton (Sue) and Donald Wighton (Carol). Special sister-in-law to Diana Andlar (John) and loving aunt to David, Kate, Karen, Jamie, Paul, John, David and Mary Catherine. Barb was an amazing lady; a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Known for her great sense of style, Barb was always impeccably dressed and her beauty and elegance shone through to the end. A lifelong Sudburian, Barb was educated in both French and English. She met her husband Peter at the Sudbury Canoe Club in 1951, later wed in April of 1961, and last year celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In her younger years, Barb was an avid skier, skater and boater. Early on, Barb worked for the Bank of Montreal and later, at various branches of the Royal Bank for many years while seamlessly balancing the demands of raising three children. Barb loved to spend time at her nearby cottage on Birch Lake where her family and friends have shared many happy memories over the last 45 years. Barbara always had a positive attitude and lived her life with unwavering confidence and to the highest of standards. Barb had a fearless zest for life to be envious of and will be missed enormously by her family and friends. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to Genevra House or Breast Cancer Research would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9pm Tuesday).
