In loving memory of Elsa Anzil (nee Pidutti), who passed away at the age of 101 on Sunday, January 28th, 2024, at Finlandia Village surrounded by family and very caring staff. Born in San Daniele del Friuli, she married Louis Anzil in Italy in 1943 joining him later in Sudbury where they opened Anzil Salon de Paris and Chez Louis. Elsa ran Anzil salon de Paris on Elm Street well into her seventies. Elsa’s clientele revered her. She was ahead of her time; customers were not simply getting their hair done; she made them feel special and beautiful. Having worked in Paris, she was the first to bring Lancôme to Canada.

Elsa was a devout Roman Catholic who belonged to Christ the King Church and on Thursdays faithfully attended the Christ the King Prayer Group. She was an avid gardener, who maintained enormous flower and vegetable gardens. The bounty of which was shared with many. She hosted countless family dinners teaching the importance of time spent with friends and family and being at the service of others.

Devoted wife of Louis Anzil predeceased. Beloved mother of Nicla (Francis Donnelly) both predeceased, Frank (Cathie), and Mark Antony (Lisa). Cherished Nonna of Andrea, Colleen, Deborah (Roberto), Kathleen, Morina, Frankie, Karissa, Louis, Cody, Vanessa and many great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Emilio and Vittoria Pidutti both predeceased and sister to 23 siblings all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Elsa’s excessive work ethic and intense attention to detail was only matched by her outstanding charisma. She will be missed by many and remembered through her shared wisdoms. Che Dio ti benedica in questo monde e quell’altro.

Elsa’s family express their appreciation to the staff at Finlandia Village in the Kuusi and Manty areas for their excellent care and support. Their commitment to their residents truly makes them earthly angels and extended family members.
