It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Lorraine passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on the morning of Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

Beloved wife of 50 years to Dale Ashick. Loving mother of Bryon, Ken (Patti), Brad, Janice Morrison (Terry). Cherished and devoted Grammy to Gabriel and Cohan, Julia and William, Ethan, and Mayson, Zakary, Kyah, and Ayla.

Lorraine was the eldest daughter of Katie (Kotanko) and Fred Rewega (both predeceased). Special daughter-in-law to Lydia (Schultz) and Eric Ashick (both predeceased).

Dear sister of Marion Capodagli (Mario), Wayne Rewega (Anita) and Carol (predeceased). Sister-in-law to Denis Ashick (predeceased), and Martin Ashick (Darlene). Many nieces and nephews will fondly remember her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephanie Giroux for her amazing care over the years. We are so grateful for your kindness, devotion, and compassion. As well as the nursing staff and psw’s from Bayshore and Canadian Shield for making her final months happy and comfortable. A heartfelt thank you to all of you for all your care and compassion.

Lorraine was a nurse for many years at the General Hospital. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and her beautiful heart. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and loved them beyond words. Whether they were near or far they were always in her thoughts and in her heart. Her love and legacy will live on through all the lives she touched and through all those who knew her.

She will be missed by so many. A limb has fallen from our family tree that says grieve not for me but remember the best times, the laughter, the good life I lived while I was strong.

In following with her wishes there will be no service or visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation, CHEO, or a charity of your choice.

Remember her smile, remember her love, and remember her life.
