In loving memory of Gordon Robert Austin, 71 years who passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 51 years of Lillian Austin (nee Wasney). Loving father of Jason (Jody) and Trevor (Leslie). Cherished grandfather of Madison, Jesse and Zaiden. Dear son of Edna and Don Austin both predeceased and son-in-law of Mary Jane and Pete Wasney both predeceased. Dear brother of Don Austin (Fernande), George Austin predeceased (Ellen), Audrey Martin predeceased (Ed), Elaine Brown, Catherine Austin-Joly (Tom predeceased), Ann-Marie Austin, Lorrie Roberts (Dave), Jane Pollock (Tom) and brother-in-law of Diane and Larry Chipp, Edmond and Valerie Bernier, Don Wasney predeceased (Debbie), Jerry Wasney (Cindy) and Israel Slodovnick. Sadly missed by his extended family, Melissa and Bob Belanger and their son Reid, Shelley Butler, the Poitras families, Al and Lorraine Langen and families, Rick Ho (Helen) and his cousin Judy Fletcher (Ed) who was like a sister to Gord, his aunt Lorraine Gilbeau, aunt Marie Gilbeau, aunt Edna and uncle Boris as well as his wonderful nieces and nephews. Gord adored and loved his soulmate Lillian of 51 years, his sons, grandchildren and grandpets. Gord retired from INCO as a mechanic. He loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He loved listening to music with friends, loved his Formula 1 races, a true Schumacher, Ferrari fan. Gord had many toys, loved motorcycles, raced motorcross, snow machines and boats. Gord was a great friend and valued all those around him. The family would like to thank Dr. Urban, surgical nurses, the E.R., staff and the doctors at Health Sciences North and the PSW’s and nurses from Bayshore Home Health for the excellent healthcare they provided to “OUR HERO & SOULMATE” whom will always hold a special place in so many hearts. A celebration of Gord's life will be held on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 from 12pm to 5pm in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Cremation.
