AVERY, William John “Bill“ - In Loving Memory of William John “Bill“ Avery, 85 years Thursday, July 5th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Mary (Venedam) Avery predeceased 2011. Loving father of Wayne, Gail (Greg Barton predeceased), Elaine (Tony Angelic), Sandra (Rafael Linares), and Paul (Julia). Cherished grandfather of Alexandra, Victoria, Andrew, Jenny, Hilary, Thomas, Meryn, Mathew (Shelley), Sara (Jason), Christopher (Sabrina), Emily and great grandchildren Maija, Ryan, Hayden, Ashton, Faith, Madisen and Makenzi. Dear son of John and Annie (Doiron) Avery predeceased. Dear brother of Wallace, Mary Jane, Eleanor, Barbara, Edmond and predeceased by James, Anthony and Anselm. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Larry's River, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, Bill moved to the Sudbury area in 1949. He married Mary (Venedam) in 1950. He had been a miner at Creighton Mine, having 36 years service at INCO, retiring due to failing health. He had a great green thumb which produced bountiful vegetables and beautiful flowers. He was a keen walker and avid reader. Bill will be remembered as an intelligent man with definite opinions, an inspired work ethic and a wonderful dry wit. He was a skilled builder who was always up for a repair or construction project. Bill was devoted to his family and he was happiest when in their company. The light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Sudbury Wednesday, July 11th, 2012 at 11:30am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crohns & Colitis Association or Down Syndrome Association would be appreciated.
