BAKER, Betty

November 4, 2011 79

BAKER, Betty (nee Elizabeth McDonald) - It is with much sorrow in our hearts that the family announces the passing of Betty. Peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the age of 79 at Extendicare Tendercare in Sault Ste. Marie. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Jack of 59 years, her two sons Grant and Scott and her daughter Lori (Glen). Betty will be forever missed by her five grandchildren Stephanie, Lyndsay, Shannon, Megan and Chris and also by her two great grandsons Mason and Cody. Betty is the daughter of the late Archie and Eva McDonald and the sister of the late Clayton (Elsa). Betty is survived by her loving sister Doreen (Al) who will sadly miss all their laughing during their phone calls and visits. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her special aunts Rhea, Jeannette and Leona and forever remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and god children. Betty was always happiest when her family was gathered together. She never wavered in the pride she had for her husband and children and always will forever be our greatest cheerleader. Thank you Mom for being the greatest Mom to us all. We remain forever proud of you. We are all proud of Mom's 50 year membership in the Catholic Women's League. A kind sweet, caring and gentle woman who touched all who knew her. A tremendous thank you to all the staff at Extendicare Tendercare, especially North Station who cared for her with much love, dignity and respect. The sweet smiles she gave daily, were well deserved by her caregivers. Mom always had a daily smile that people looked for and appreciated. We will miss you with all our hearts, Mom, but you will always continue to live on through us. We were always and will forever remain proud of you and your strength. In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no viewing or service in Sault Ste. Marie. A private family gathering will be held in Sudbury at a later date, with interment at Civic Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie would be mostly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the ARTHUR FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (492 Wellington St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 2L9 705- 759-2522). Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
