Banach, Edith - Passed away suddenly at the St. Joseph""s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Saturday October 2, 2010 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Julian Banach. Pre-deceased by her parents William and Maria Brossman and by her brother Warner Brossman. Loving mother of Erika MacLellan (husband Robert Alexander MacLellan) of Elliot Lake. Adored grandmother of Kevin MacLellan of Toronto, David MacLellan (Chantal) of Barrie, Ryan MacLellan (wife Marcy) of Elliot Lake and adored great grandmother of Ethan MacLellan, Lexes and Loghan Delorme. Edith and Julian retired from Sudbury and moved to Elliot Lake in 1991 through the Retirement Living program. She loved playing cards, penny bingo at club 66 and riding the transit bus. She will be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality as well as her lovely smile. She will be sadly missed by her numerous friends. Visitation will be held at the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Avenue) on Wednesday October 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Father Paul Conway officiating. Interment to follow in Woodlands Cemetery, Elliot Lake. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Society for Animals in Distress or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
