BASS, Richard Hugh - January 19, 1951 - January 17, 2013 - “Lord, add a place at your table. . . for You are receiving a new guest“. On the frosty morning of January 17th, 2013, surrounded by his family, and in the arms of his loving and devoted wife Fay, our courageous “Papa“, Richard Hugh Bass, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Mourning the loss of this “One of a Kind, Humble man“, are his daughter Tamara (Scott Taggart) of North Bay ON, and grandchildren Victoria Rose, Mackenzie and Owen; and his son Geoffrey of Edmonton and grandson Tylor. In 1992, Ricky Bass met the love of his life, (his sparring partner) Fay (Rantucci) and inherited sons and daughters: Josh, Amber, Davy (Chantelle), Moraldo (Alana), Jennifer (Dan), Mandy (Travis), Ryan, Lana and also Glenn (Jenn).Ricky became Papa to Jenni, Kayla, Colten, Sam, Mitch, Jon, Dylan, Hope, Rylee, Jessy, Allie, Jamey, Romey, Easton, Mikey, Ashtyn, David, Hugh, Ben, Hollie and a namesake on the way. Ricky Bass is also survived by his siblings Sandy (Sylvia) of Lively ON; Linda (Clayton) of Dowling ON, mother and father in-law Ernst and Alice Lietz of Calgary, good friend Shirley Lewis, and godmother sister Edna Fraser and numerous nieces and nephews. Welcoming him into heaven are his parents Alexander and Grace (Chase) Bass, Sister Cheryl, brother Gary and sister in law Lois. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Church In memory of Ricky Bass, donations to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.
