BASSO, Barbara Constance (Cox) - In loving memory of Barbara Constance (Cox) Basso, 83 years, who passed away Friday, August 6th, 2010 at St. Joseph""s Continuing Care Complex. Beloved wife of Roy Basso predeceased 1990. Loving mother of Bruce (Rena predeceased), Barbara (Ray), Ron (Rita), Rick (Mary), Alan and Mike predeceased (Helen). Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of Thomas and Ethel Cox predeceased. Dear sister of Tony and predeceased by Sheila, Brenda and Rita. Born and raised in London Barbara experienced the threat of bombing during WWII. She married Roy Basso in 1945 in England moving to Canada in 1946. Landing in Halifax settling in Sudbury 1954. She was an avid reader, a keen crossword solver, and she had a green thumb which produced beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables. She enjoyed watching classic movies and in her younger days was a beautiful singer. Barbara was devoted to her loving family. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Sunday, August 8th, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sundridge Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Fund would be appreciated.
