BATTISTON, Achille - With great sorrow the Family of Achille Battiston mourn his passing on Nov 9th, 2011 at Health Sciences North. Loving Husband of Luigina (Betti) for the past 52 wonderful years. Loving Father to Michael, Maria Schroeder (Terry), Susy, Juliana (Mario Bissonettte). The light of his life and smile on his face, Nonno to his beloved granddaughters Sara Schroeder and Lyndsey Spry. Achille will be missed by many family and long time friends (especially the Danforth Gang) here in Sudbury and Toronto. He will be missed by his sister in Italy as well as many nieces and nephews. Dinners at Nonno's were a common occurrence and he cherished the time spent with his family. Known also as Archie he was a man of few words but many actions. He had a personality that made you adore him. He was passionate when it came to his garden, fruit trees and his winemaking skills. Achille could fix just about anything and his family provided him with many challenges. Achille's greatest pleasure in life was to fish and he could not get enough of it. His favorite place was at his son's Cabin on Lake Mesomikenda where he said, “I'll be there, watching you.“ Come join his family in celebrating his life. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 1250 Barrydowne Rd. Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at 11:30am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Prayers 8pm Friday. (Friends may call 7- 9pm Friday).
