In Loving Memory of Evelyn (Rees) Baxter 76 years Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved wife of Morley Baxter of Sudbury. Loving mother of Lyndon (Susan) of Coniston, Shelly (Jerry Grose) of Elliot Lake and Cheryl of Waterloo. Cherished grandmother of “J.R.” (Crystal), Leah, Melissa (Shane), Marla, Dustyn, Tyler, Carter and great grandchildren Daneeka and Zoey. Dear daughter of William and Aili Rees both predeceased. Dear sister of Glenys (Ron Anderson) of Minnesota, predeceased by Gwyneth. Dear sister-in-law of Ida McDermott of Timmins. Sadly missed by David, Evelyn, Allan, Karen, Judy and their families. Born in Sudbury, raised in Timmins, Evelyn was devoted to her family. She was a past Matriarch of Eastern Star, 139 Algoma Chapter, a member of St. Andrews United Church and the Sudbury District Weavers and Spinners. She enjoyed square dancing, and a real passion of her life was all crafts dealing with thread. Evelyn leaves a wonderful legacy of skilled work in knitting, sewing, weaving, cross stitching and many other beautiful crafts. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, May 15th, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemtery. An Eastern Star Service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. Donations to the Sudbury Regional Cancer Centre, Maison Vale Inco Hospice or Eastern Star would be appreciated.(Friends may call 2-4; 7-9 p.m. Friday)
