In Loving Memory of Léo (Léopold) Arthur Beaudoin

Léo (Léopold) Arthur Beaudoin, born in the Flour Mill/Sudbury, Ontario, passed away peacefully at HSN on Friday, October 13th, 2023, at the age of 82. It is with profound sadness that we announce his departure. He was the beloved son of the late Julien Joseph Beaudoin and the late Lebéa (Béa) Trottier.

Léo was the cherished husband of Linda Zanatta-Beaudoin, originally from Sault-Ste-Marie, and a loving father to Luc (Linda), Paulla (Nelson), and Joëlle (Jason). Léo's memory will be forever cherished by his grandchildren Carson, Jillian, Julia, and Beatrice.

He was predeceased by his brothers Julien Jr. (Bud) and Rudy (Faye) and is survived by his two sisters Carmen (Normand) and Jeanne (Gilles). Léo will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.

Léo dedicated many years of his life to his work, first as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative with different companies and later as the Regional Director with St. John’s Ambulance. He was also the proud owner of Moonlight Beach Confectionary for 15 years and successfully managed rental properties on Cedar Street. In his retirement, he found joy in traveling to Ottawa and Toronto to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Léo enjoyed blueberry picking at the family camp on Lohi Lake and fishing adventures with his fishing buddies, including his nephew, Mike and cousin, Dennis on the Onaping River. Léo possessed a natural talent for woodworking and found delight in carpentry. He frequently attended banquets at the Caruso Club with his wife and close friends.

Léo had a special way with people and “the gift of gab” to put it lightly, whether it was chatting with a customer at the store or with a tenant at Cedar… He was always there ready to help anyone who needed it. A true gentleman with all who knew him.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated staff at Pioneer Manor (Killarney section) and on 4 South at HSN, as well as Dr. Vokey and her assistant Tanya, for their compassionate care.

In accordance with Léo’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Friends and family may gather at 10:30 a.m. before 11 a.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 28th at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1250 Barrydowne Road., followed by cremation with interment in the family plot at Civic Memorial Cemetery, 365 2nd Avenue N. Live streaming available at St. Andrew the Apostle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) to carry on the amazing care his granddaughter had this past year during her cancer journey.
