June 8th, 1939 – October 11, 2020

We have been blessed to have shared our lives with such an amazing woman. A dedicated wife, a loving mother, adored grandmother and cherished great grandmother, who has sadly left us to be reunited in Heaven with our father Raymond, the love of her life for 60 years.
She was born on June 8th, 1939 in St. Charles, Ontario, to her parents Rose (nee Cardinal) and Leon Duhamel.  Dear sister of Roland Duhamel (late Helga) Colette Creaser, Denise Demers (late Alphonse), Sister Rejeanne Duhamel,  Helene Mathieu (Ernest) and sister-in-law of Claire Duhamel (Normand) and Susan Duhamel (Rheal). Predeceased by her sisters Lucille Savage (late Len), Rachel McColeman (late Raymond), and brothers Normand Duhamel and Rheal (Tooty) Duhamel.
Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and close loving friends that will feel her loss tremendously.
Married in 1960, mom and dad built their home in Whitefish Ontario, where they raised their family of 4 children; Linda Boulard (Luc), Pauline Gosselin (Robin), Daniel Bennett (late Leeann Barnard) and Timothy Bennett (Kimberly).  Mom and Dad continued to live out their golden years in our family home.
Mom was a devoted “Nana” to her nine grandchildren and will be greatly missed by; Carolle Stein (Tyler), Michel Boulard (Jeannie), Julien Boulard (Jill), Colton Gosselin (Kailey), Kaegan Gosselin (Dylan), Brennen, Isabelle, Jamie and Sydney.  “Nana B” will also be fondly remembered by her six great- grandchildren; Chloe, Sophie, Kyleigh, Tobin, Dexter and Linus.
Our Mother’s true life’s passion was her family and friends.
For 50 years Mom was a dedicated parishioner and long-time member of the Ladies Guild at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. Her contributions included preparing the church for Sunday mass and various other religious celebrations.  She was a member of the Cenacle of the Marian Movement for Priests, as well as being a part of the prayer life in the parish. Our mother also founded the Christmas fundraising event to support her sister’s work as a nun in Africa and for the Catholic Mission for the Children of Haiti.
Mom loved to meet new people, going for long walks, trying to win the big euchre jackpot at the Beaver Lake Community Centre, knitting, bowling, picking blueberries, and baking her famous “Nana B’s” Jam Cookies.  Her heart of gold, her love for life and her witty humour will never be forgotten.
Mom, we miss you terribly but we take great comfort in knowing that you are finally together again with Dad, please give him a hug for us.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church on Thursday October 29th, 2020 at 10:30am, final blessing to follow at the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic directives, face masks and social distancing are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB Foundation – Lake Joe (helps bring the magic of summer camp to life for the people living with sight loss) would be greatly appreciated.  Donations and condolences entrusted to the Lougheed’s Funeral Home, www.lougheed.org.
