In loving memory of Lena Aurora Besner (nee Tonello). Our dear Lena, 92 years old, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 quietly and peacefully at home.
Born May 3rd, 1931 to Angelo and Orina Tonello (nee Tracanelli) in Espanola Ontario. She was a loving wife to Germain “Jerry” Besner (predeceased in 1996) for 44 years, who she met while working at an INCO boarding house in Creighton Mines. Dear mom of Brian (wife Janice). She was blessed with two grandchildren, Conlan and Lena-Joy and one terrific great grandson, Tristan, all who live in Alberta.
Predeceased by all her husband’s Besner family, mostly from Cornwall, Tonello parents, Tracanelli grandparents, sisters-in-law Yvonne and Tibby from Britt, where she grew up. Nona first worked in Niagara Falls, an experience she treasured. Through her life she blessed those she shared her phenomenal cooking with.
Will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved her including all four brothers, Leno, Santo, Eddy, and Frank (Lori), plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street, Sudbury on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 from 5-8pm. Funeral mass in St. Pius X in Lively on Monday, June 19th, 2023 at 11am.
