BODEN, Marion

BODEN, Marion (nee Weir - May 26, 1920) - Died peacefully Saturday February 2, 2013 with family at her side. Marion (Mom) was born in Scotland and came to Canada at age 8 with her parents, 2 sisters (Ina Hicks and Molly Fiss) and her brothers John and Frank. From Sherbrooke Quebec they moved to Copper Cliff in 1932. Mom and Dad (W. Austin Boden) married in 1942 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Children followed: John, Joan (deceased at age 2), Barbara, Linda, Joanne and Greg. Mom was devoted to family, and making a home for her growing children. In addition, Mom and Dad fostered about 17 infants over a 4- 5 year period. They were pleased to welcome in-laws (Kathy, Doug, Hugh, Russ, Dean and Nancy) to the family, and especially proud to have 11 grandchildren: Ross (Rhonda) and Russell (Hripsime) Boden, Chris (Michele) Hibbins, Cliff and Jonathan Skinner, Nicole, Joelle, Daniel and Michelle Schlichter, Ashley Cunningham and Skye Boden and of course the GREAT grandsons, Austin Boden and Gage Hibbins. We are pleased that she was able to spend the last of her 92 years in the excellent care of staff at St. Joseph's Villa, Sudbury. Mom was a devout Christian and has now been ushered to the Throne of Grace. We have been blessed by her in so many ways. A memorial celebration of Mom's life will be held on Saturday February 9, 2:00 PM at JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury.
