In loving memory of Patsy Bolton (nee Strain) who passed away at Health Sciences North March 13th, 2023, in Sudbury, surrounded by her husband, daughter, brother, sister-in-law, and grand daughters.

Beloved wife of Barry Bolton. Loving mother of Jennifer (Andrew). Cherished Aga of Emma and Abigail, they were the light of her life. Dear daughter of Fred and Lenora (nee Dinsmore) Strain both predeceased. Dear sister of Herb Strain (friend Anne), Nancy Wright (Alex), James Strain (Penny), Deone McDougall (Ross), Greg Strain, Lyle Strain (Heather), Scott Strain (Sue). Dear sister in-law to Brenda (Wayne), Robert Bolton (Mona). Cherished daughter in-law of Russell and Myrtle Bolton both predeceased. Dearest sister in-law to Donna Strain predeceased, Brenda Strain predeceased. Along with many Aunts and Uncles, dearly loved Nieces, Nephews, Great-nieces and Great-Nephews.

Patsy grew up on Manitoulin Island, later moving to Espanola, and eventually residing in Sudbury. She had early struggles that she overcame as a single mother, she was both a mother and father to her only daughter Jenn. She created a great career for herself and made many lifelong friendships working at the cancer centre and HSN.

In later years she traveled as much as she could with her dear friend Lou. Although her “Happy Place” would always remain Camp at Smith’s Bay.

Patsy became a grandmother (Aga) when Emma was born and she dotted lovingly on both Emma and Abby. She delightedly helped Jenn with raising the girls. Always stepping up when needed.

She was very involved in the community and will be missed by all. Aga to many.

Patsy can be easily described as fearless, loving and down for anything, with a heart of gold. She was an avid photographer taking photos of her family, sunsets, flowers and food. She spent her last couple of weeks adventuring in Jamaica with her dear husband Barry, swimming and snorkelling in the ocean and eating good food.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023, from 2-6pm at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury.

Donations in Patsy’s honour can be made to the NEO Kids Foundation or the Sudbury Food Bank. For donations and messages of condolence, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
