With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of David Roger Bowman, 83 years, on January 20, 2022 at HSN. Beloved husband of 59 years to Diane Bowman. Loving father to Carol-Anne Falconi (David), Linda Mercier (Tom), and Suzanne Bowman. Cherished “Gramps” to Julianne, Alyson, Alyssa, Keanna and Samantha. Born to parents Bert and Nita (Stinson) Bowman, predeceased. Survived by sister Mary Kay Frank (Bill). Predeceased by sister Marilyn Macquarrie and brother in-law John, and precious baby sister Carole Ruby. Survived by brother in-law Gerald Levert. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.

David was born in London, ON and spent his school years in Glencoe and St. Thomas. He had an aptitude in math and the need for a calculator was never required in life. His father, a bank manager in Norwich, mentored him in the financial sector. A career change to CRA led him to Sudbury where he climbed to a supervisory level, wearing a suit and tie until his retirement.

He enjoyed the simple things and led his life by ‘rolling with the punches’. With his warm smile he had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, usually leading with, “Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies!”. His comedic personality would always shine through, especially while grilling burgers or drinking his triple-triple. His happy place was being immersed in nature, and he enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and listening to Steve Earle, Johnny Cash and Elvis. Above all, his most cherished pastime was spending time with family, always with a selfless devotion to everyone. He had immeasurable strength through his many health battles. He will be deeply missed and cherished by all.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Ravi Singh and the Northeastern Cancer Center, Dr.’s Monique and Moe St. Martin, and the 4th floor nursing staff at HSN. At David’s request there will be no funeral or service. Arrangements entrusted to Park Lawn Crematorium Sudbury. Donations in David’s memory to the Northern Cancer Center would be appreciated by family.
