Clara Louise Boyd (Robicheau), also known as MAMA Clara, passed away, April 10, 2024, at the age of 91 years, at Health Sciences North surrounded by her loving family.

Clara was born March 13, 1933, in Digby, Nova Scotia. Clara was the daughter of Adelaide and Myron Robicheau (both predeceased). Clara was the sister of Ronald, Donald, Shirley, Robert, Myron, Thelma (all predeceased), and Woody.

She married Burton Boyd (predeceased) on April 10, 1951. Soon after, they moved to Coniston to start their new life together. They had 8 children, Wayne (predeceased), Robert (predeceased) (Marsha), Alan (predeceased), Janis (Stephen), John (predeceased), Cathy (Gord), Michael (Janis), and Mark (Pam).

Clara had 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Clara was an aunt and a great aunt to many that she loved so much.

Clara was a devoted Catholic and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) at St. Paul the Apostle church in Coniston for over 60-years. She was well known for her participation in the church rummage sales that she started many years ago, she was so proud of that accomplishment. Some of Clara’s favorite pastimes were yard sales, baking, hosting family dinners, bingo, church teas, making the legendary Rappi Pie, and she sure loved a good game of cribbage.

When Clara moved into her new apartment she met a lot of great people who she became good friends with and loved dearly. She devoted her life to her family and many others who walked through her door.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Coniston, followed by the burial at St. John’s Cemetery, 34 Garson-Coniston Rd, Garson, ON. A celebration of life will then be held at the Colonial Inn, 28 Cedar St, Coniston, ON at 1:00 pm.

We are so grateful for the care our mother received on the fifth floor of the south tower at Health Sciences North. You know who you are, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Clara's caregivers Britny and Sydney. Clara adored them both and the help they provided was greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Paul Apostle Church would be greatly appreciated.
