BRASH, Charles Douglas - The family of “Charlie“ Brash of Whitefish sadly announce his passing on Sunday, April 08, 2012 at Health Sciences North of Sudbury, after a long battle with Heart and Lung Disease. Loved husband of Dorothy (Koski) (Dempsey) of Sudbury, and the late Irene (Buell) (1983). Missed but never forgotten by his children, Benson, wife Bonnie, of Newcastle Ontario, Jim, of Perth, Ontario, Charlene, husband Bill Zyma of Sudbury, Ontario, Marcia, husband David Plane of Cold Lake, Alberta, and Lauren, husband John White of Sudbury, Ontario. Predeceased by his daughter Dianne Falconer, husband Fred Falconer predeceased. Also fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren, Lisa and Allen Falconer of Saskatchewan, Mathew and Ian Brash of NewCastle, Amanda Brash-Orr of Calgary Alberta, Joe Brash of Blezard Valley, Jaime-Lyn Brash-Moore of Ottawa, Shirley Buell of Trenton, Katie Buell-Lucas of Smiths Falls, Amy Zyma-Patterson of Sudbury, Shanna Zyma-Guerrette of Sudbury, Robbie, Jessie and Katelyn Plane of Cold Lake, Alberta Jeff Somers of Kitchener and Charli White of Sudbury. Predeceased by Lisa Falconer of Saskatchewan. Remembered by his step children, Barrie Koski, wife Chris, of Camden East, Ontario, Bev Cruise of Walden, Debbie Koski of Walden and Sharon Vitone predeceased, husband Vic of Niagara. Also by 34 great grandchildren, and numerous step grand children, great grand children and nieces and nephews. Charlie was born on February 11, 1929, the 5th child of Mary and Earl Brash of Westport, Ontario (both predeceased). He was predeceased by all 6 of his brothers, Jack (wife Ruth of Renfrew predeceased), Harold (wife Evelyn of Athens, Ontario) Bert (wife Frona of Sharbot Lake Ontario) Stanley, George (wife Doris of Perth, Ontario) and Arden (wife Margie Badour predeceased). Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman when he was in better health. He also served as a volunteer fireman (and captain) with the Whitefish Fire Department and served many years as a councilman and chair of the Board of Education for the United Townships of Drury, Dennison and Graham prior to Regional government being formed. He was a retired Inco worker and a member of the Quarter Century Club. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St., at Hazel St.Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Whitefish Public Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-4:30 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday or after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday).
